India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been shortlisted for the ICC Player of the Month award for November, thanks to his stellar performance as stand-in captain during India’s dominant 295-run victory over Australia in Perth.

Bumrah Shines as Stand-In Skipper
With regular captain Rohit Sharma unavailable for the series opener due to personal reasons, Bumrah stepped in to lead the side. His exceptional bowling played a pivotal role in India’s commanding win, helping keep their hopes alive for a spot in the World Test Championship final.
Bumrah delivered a masterclass in pace bowling, claiming figures of 5/30 in the first innings and 3/42 in the second, dismantling Australia’s batting lineup. These performances also propelled Bumrah back to the top of the ICC Men’s Test Bowling Rankings.
Other Nominees for the Award
Joining Bumrah on the men’s shortlist are South Africa’s Marco Jansen and Pakistan’s Haris Rauf, both of whom made significant contributions in November:
Marco Jansen: The South African left-arm seamer impressed with his performances in the T20I series against India and later starred in the Durban Test against Sri Lanka, leading the Proteas to a commanding 233-run victory.
Haris Rauf: The Pakistan pacer played a key role in Pakistan’s historic ODI series win in Australia, their first since 2002.
Women’s Player of the Month Nominees
The ICC also announced the nominees for the Women’s Player of the Month award, which includes:
Sharmin Akhter (Bangladesh): The opener stood out in Bangladesh’s ODI series against Ireland in Mirpur, delivering match-winning performances.
Nadine de Klerk (South Africa): De Klerk excelled in South Africa’s T20I series against England, leading the charts for both runs and wickets.
Danni Wyatt-Hodge (England): Wyatt played a vital role in England’s 3-0 T20I series win over South Africa, producing a series of match-defining knocks.

Having previously won the ICC Player of the Month award, Bumrah now seeks to add another accolade to his illustrious career. His November performances have once again highlighted his value as one of cricket’s premier bowlers and a leader capable of delivering under pressure.
The winners of the ICC Player of the Month awards will be announced soon, celebrating outstanding performances across both men’s and women’s cricket.
