Match Summary: India Clinches Series Victory
England won the toss and opted to field first, making an early impact as pacer Saqib Mahmood dismissed Sanju Samson, Tilak Varma, and captain Suryakumar Yadav in quick succession, reducing India to 12/3. Abhishek Sharma and Rinku Singh attempted to steady the innings, but India still found themselves struggling at 79/5.
However, a crucial 87-run partnership between Pandya and Shivam Dube turned the tide in India’s favor, helping them reach 181/9. England’s bowlers, including Overton and Adil Rashid, delivered strong spells but couldn’t prevent India’s resurgence.
In response, England made a solid start with Phil Salt and Ben Duckett adding 62 runs for the first wicket. However, Indian spinners staged a strong comeback, reducing England to 95/4. Despite a fighting half-century from Harry Brook, wickets tumbled at regular intervals. Harshit Rana and Ravi Bishnoi played key roles in restricting England to 166, securing a 15-run victory for India.
Series Win and Player of the Match
With this win, India sealed the series 3-1. Shivam Dube was named ‘Player of the Match’ for his all-round contribution.
