After returning to India following the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Kohli has been frequently visiting their Alibaug property. The cricketer and his wife were recently spotted taking a jetty ride from the Gateway of India to the coastal town, where they hosted a griha pravesh ceremony for their new home.
A Thoughtful and Relaxing Design
Built on a sprawling 10,000-square-foot plot, the luxurious four-bedroom villa is estimated to cost INR 32 crore. Designed by the globally renowned Stefan Antoni Olmesdahl Truen Architects (SAOTA) and led by Phillippe Fouche, the home is crafted to bring in maximum natural light, creating a harmonious connection with its surroundings.
The design avoids traditional entertainment elements like televisions in the living room, instead encouraging conversation and family bonding. Kohli shared his perspective, saying, “The most important thing for me in a holiday home is the feeling you get when you enter. It should make you feel relaxed, centered, and peaceful—like being at home, but away from your regular home.”
Cherishing Family Time
During the house tour, Kohli emphasized the importance of family meals, revealing that this practice holds deep significance for him. “I truly value having meals together as a family because I didn’t do enough of that as a kid. What I missed out on, we make sure to prioritize now in our household,” he explained.
The villa’s design aligns with this sentiment, creating spaces that foster family interaction and togetherness. Kohli also highlighted his use of the ‘Avas’ app to manage various aspects of the house with ease.

The outdoor area is Kohli’s favorite part of the property. “This is where I love to sit, have a cup of coffee, and relax. Even on holidays, I maintain my diet, but this space allows me to unwind,” he shared.
