Kolkata: Sneha Singh delivered a remarkable 2-under 68, the best round of the day, to take the lead in the second round of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour (WPGT) at the Tollygunge Club on Thursday. The 2023 Hero Order of Merit winner now stands as the only player under par at 1-under 139, holding a narrow one-shot advantage over first-round leader Vani Kapoor.

An Impressive Comeback for Sneha
Sneha, who last claimed victory on the Hero WPGT in February 2024 during the fourth leg, showcased a strong performance despite an early bogey on the second hole. She bounced back with birdies on the third and eighth holes, followed by two more on the 11th and 15th holes. However, a bogey on the final hole saw her finish at 68, still the best score of the day.
Vani Kapoor’s Challenging Day
Vani Kapoor, the overnight leader, faced a mixed round. She recorded three birdies, three bogeys, and three pars on the front nine. Her back nine proved more difficult, with bogeys on the 10th, 12th, and 14th holes. A birdie on the 17th helped her finish at 2-over, placing her in second position, one shot behind Sneha.
Anvitha Narender in Sole Third
Anvitha Narender, who secured her maiden professional title last season, held steady with a 72 after a challenging start with three bogeys in the first five holes. She managed a comeback with three birdies but dropped two more shots, finishing in third place.
