South Africa has unveiled a formidable 15-man squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy in Pakistan, led by Temba Bavuma. The team features 10 players from their 2023 World Cup campaign in India, emphasizing experience and continuity as they aim to secure the prestigious title.

Key Returns: Nortje and Ngidi
Fast bowler Anrich Nortje, who missed the World Cup due to a left toe injury, has made a full recovery and is back in the squad. Lungi Ngidi, another crucial pacer, also returns after sitting out the recent home series against Pakistan due to a groin injury.
Coach Rob Walter Highlights Team’s Strength
South Africa’s head coach, Rob Walter, expressed confidence in the squad’s experience and capabilities. “This team is rich in experience, with players who have consistently delivered under pressure. That experience is crucial in tournaments like the Champions Trophy,” he stated during a virtual press conference.
Walter also emphasized the balance in the squad, noting, “We’ve retained the core group from the 2023 World Cup while integrating fresh talent. Our recent performances demonstrate that we can advance to the latter stages of global tournaments. Now, we’re focused on taking that final step to claim the silverware.”
