Sneha Singh Shares Lead with Rhea and Durga in WPGT Season Opener

Jamshedpur, India: Sneha Singh, Rhea Purvi Saravanan, and Durga Nittur finished the opening round of the 2025 Women’s Pro Golf Tour (WPGT) season tied at the top. The trio each carded an even-par 72 at the Golmuri Golf Club in Jamshedpur, setting the stage for an exciting competition.

Close on their heels, Amandeep Drall and Jasmine Shekar ended the round one shot behind with scores of 73, placing them in tied-fourth. Meanwhile, a group of four golfers, including professional debutant Lavanya Jadon, Neha Tripathi, Ananya Garg, and amateur Saanvi Somu, all shot 3-over 75 to share the sixth spot.

Rhea Finishes Strong to Secure Shared Lead

Rhea, who teed off in the third group of the morning, overcame a tough start. She was 3-over through 14 holes but turned things around with a brilliant run of three birdies in her final four holes. Birdies on the 15th, 17th, and 18th saw her finish with a solid 72, making her the early clubhouse leader.

Sneha and Durga Match the Pace

Sneha Singh, the 2023 Order of Merit winner, had an eventful day on the course. Her round included four birdies and an equal number of bogeys, landing her alongside Rhea at the top. Durga Nittur also kept her game steady, balancing three birdies against three bogeys to complete the trio in the shared lead.

Amandeep and Jasmine Trail by One

Amandeep Drall started strong with a birdie on the first hole but faltered on the back nine, carding bogeys on the 10th and 18th to end at 73. Jasmine Shekar, who had a remarkable 2024 season with two wins in her last three events, recorded four birdies but was hampered by five bogeys, leaving her tied with Amandeep.

Mixed Fortunes for Others in the Field

Ananya Garg had a rollercoaster start, going without a single par in her first seven holes. She notched three birdies and four bogeys during that stretch, followed by a double bogey on the 11th and a bogey on the 15th. A birdie on the 18th helped her close at 75.

Lavanya Jadon, making her professional debut, had a challenging day with three bogeys and no birdies, also ending with a 75. Experienced golfer Neha Tripathi managed just one birdie alongside four bogeys, while amateur Saanvi Somu showed resilience by recovering from 5-over with birdies on her final two holes to also score 75.

Anvitha Narender rounded off the top 10 on the leaderboard, leaving fans eager for the next round in this closely contested season opener.
