Carlos Alcaraz overcame an initial setback to defeat Tommy Paul on Tuesday, securing his place in the Wimbledon semi-final against Daniil Medvedev. The defending champion, ranked third in the world, staged a comeback after dropping the first set, ultimately triumphing 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-2 under the No. 1 Court roof. Alcaraz faced an early challenge from the American, losing serve twice in the first set. However, he rallied in the subsequent sets, breaking Paul’s serve and asserting control with three breaks in the third set and a dominant display in the fourth set.

“If I’m struggling a little bit to find the solutions, if the opponent is playing great tennis and I don’t get him in trouble, I believe at the end that I’ll be able to come back and be able to find solutions,” he said.
Reflecting on his performance, Alcaraz acknowledged the tough start but expressed confidence in his ability to find solutions during the match. Looking ahead to his upcoming clash with Medvedev, he highlighted the Russian’s recent form and expressed determination to replicate his previous victory over Medvedev at Wimbledon.
