Jay Shah’s Message For Rahul Dravid After Gautam Gambhir Is Named India Coach

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah expressed his gratitude to former India Head Coach Rahul Dravid, commending his successful tenure with the Men in Blue, which saw the team achieve victory in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 in Barbados. Shah announced that Gautam Gambhir would be the new head coach of the Indian cricket team. Before making this announcement, Shah acknowledged Dravid’s contributions, stating, “I express my sincere thanks and gratitude to Mr. Rahul Dravid, whose highly successful tenure as Head Coach draws to a close. Under his guidance, #TeamIndia emerged as a dominant force across formats, including being crowned ICC Men’s T20 World Cup champions.”

Dravid led the Indian team for three years, during which they won the T20 World Cup, the Asia Cup, and reached the finals of both the 2023 ODI World Cup and the World Test Championship 2023. Shah praised Dravid’s strategic acumen, efforts to nurture talent, and leadership, noting that he instilled a culture of excellence within the team, making the Indian dressing room a cohesive unit.

Following this, Shah confirmed Gautam Gambhir as the new head coach, stating, “It is with immense pleasure that I welcome Mr. @GautamGambhir as the new Head Coach of the Indian Cricket Team. Modern-day cricket has evolved rapidly, and Gautam has witnessed this changing landscape up close.
